Social Media Image Size Guide

A picture is worth a thousand words…especially in social marketing.

Seventy million photos and videos are shared on Instagram daily and Pinterest users pinned nearly twenty billion pins so far this year.

More than 350 million photos are shared every single day on Facebook and a recent report from Simply Measured determined that seventy-seven percent of all brand engagement on the network happens on photos.

So how can we ensure those images we’re sharing stand out enough to actually engage our intended audience?

One of the most important things to keep your digital presence looking its best is to keep track of the proper photo dimensions for all social media channels your church, organization, or brand uses.

Here’s a current outline of the best image sizes and types for each social network. Note that dimension sizes are in pixels unless otherwise noted:

    Since this changes so rapidly based on re-design of the interface, what I do is take a screen shot of my social network profile/page, and then crop that screenshot to the particular graphic that I aim to design.
