As the saying goes . . . content is king. We know that content is what gets attention, provides exposure, and gets you in front of an audience. It’s important to maximize that attentive opportunity. Content whether it be a photos, a video, a blog post, etc. all provide a great opportunity for evangelizing much more than just the main focus of the content itself. Here’s 3 easy ways to take your content to the next level:
- Blog posts and linking – When writing a post on your parish website you will undoubtedly mention some ministry, upcoming event, sacrament, etc. This is a great opportunity to hyperlink to the item giving more exposure to all of the great things and your Spirit-filled Parish and.or further education. For example, you might have something that reads “This week our Ladies Club (hyperlink to your Ladies Club Ministry page) will offer . . . “. This also a great opportunity to link to outside sources that increase education and awareness.
- Descriptions on Photos and Photo Galleries – This is especially true on social services like Facebook. How often are we in a rush to get those great photos out to others and we simply upload them with a generic description like “Some Event 2013”. Photos are great attention grabbers and you can use the description area as an opportunity to not only highlight the event but also highlight the program and link out to it.
- Mentions, Hashtags, and descriptions in Instagram photos – I’ve found Instagram to be great for gaining simple attention and exposure. So take advantage of that exposure opportunity to call out others or your parish through great descriptions and mentions. Hashtags are also a great opportunity to get your content included in a relevant conversations. Here’s an example below from Lisa Hendey and her recent time in Rawanda.
