A few months ago I had the pleasure of interviewing Amanda Houska, Assistant Director and Religious Communities Coordinator for the Imagine Sisters Movement, about the movie they were making with Lighthouse Catholic Media.
Light of Love is a film about the beauty of the consecrated life, plain and simple. We’re going to make a film that allows sisters to do the talking, explaining their stories in a way that hopefully brings hope to our viewers… and ultimately inspiration to live a life as a sister to those who God is calling!
Light of Love is now complete, and you can watch it here. From the insightful interviews to the beautiful and clean cinematography—everything came together perfectly for this production. I loved every second of it.
You’ll recognize the expression on the faces of these sisters. It’s the same expression you’ve seen on missionaries building homes in a foreign country, on volunteers collecting donations for a local food pantry, or on the mother holding her swaddled newborn for the first time—it’s the expression of pure joy that results from answering a call to the vocation God has intended for you.
I urge you all to watch the film, share it with your friends, and especially with your parish. The Imagine Sisters website also offers study guides to accompany the movie, making it a fantastic resource for Youth Ministries or Religious Education classes.
