If you’ve ever had anyone wonder if your parishioners are ready to adopt technology or technology is really needed within your church, show them these pictures below. Below are two pictures from St. Peter’s square, the first right before the election of Pope Benedict XVI and the second taken last week just prior to the election of Pope Francis. Two different different popes and two very different uses of technology. Note the lack of digital cameras. Digital cameras may still take better photos, but its not the quality of the image that people are interested in. Its their ability to share (via tweet, post, Instagram pic, YouTube video, etc) the moment, instantly, with their social media circles.
