Catholic Android Apps Spotlight

Yes, I’m an Android user.  One of the first things I looked for was Catholic Apps for Android and found several, but we’ll focus on two here.

The first is Catholic One by Aycka Soft.  This free app provides users with:

  • Daily readings
  • Prayers
  • Rosary
  • Access to the NAB Bible (when online only)
Aycka Soft has been great about listening to user feedback and providing updates.  They initially ran into some minor issues with copyrights with the USCCB.  That has since been remedied and all the features are live again.

The second is Catholic Cheat Sheet by Calanoa Software.  This app comes in both a free (ad supported) and a $.99 version (no ads).  This is the perfect app to have Catholic answers at your disposal at any point in time.  One of the best features is the order of the Mass INCLUDING the New Mass which coming up very quickly.  Some great features of this app are:
  • Beliefs
  • Prayers (Morning, Noon, Night, others)
  • The Mass

I live in Palm Coast, FL with my family and have assisted my local parish with our website and communications. Our parishes today can benefit a great deal from technology. Whether it's improving communications, community building, evangelizing, business operations, and much more; we have the tools today. To help provide some direction and advice to parishes and parishioners, I wrote and published an eBook titled "The Connected Church" which is available through Barnes and Noble (Nooks and Nook apps) as well as Amazon (Kindle and Kindle apps).
