Something different – redux

It’s been a crazy week since I announced that I was going to shut down CatholicTechTalk.com. Now, I’m happy to announce that Liturgical Publications is taking ownership of the website. I tip my hat to LPI; it’s apparent to me they’re fully-committed to helping the Catholic Church transition to the Digital Continent.

There’s still a few technical details being sorted out on the back-end (e.g. transferring social media accounts), but I’m excited to see where they take the website. And, I won’t be too far away since they’ve graciously allowed me to continue posting.

So, keep an eye on CatholicTechTalk.com – change is coming.

And I’m hoping it goes something like this…

“We can rebuild him. We have the technology. We can make him better than he was. Better…stronger…faster.”

    Change is never easy, but usually good things can and do come of it  Change is actually something the readers of this blog should understand quite well.  This may be a technically-focused blog, but what we’re really talking about is well beyond technology.  We’re really talking about encouraging and facilitating change, just change in a digital sort of way.

    I’ll be taking over the role of editor from Craig as he moves on.  I’m excited about the opportunity Craig has afforded us.  He’s built a great idea, attracted a number of followers, and found a few good authors to share their thoughts and ideas. 

    So what would Liturgical Publications want to do with this blog?  Quite simply, grow the conversation.  The Church is indeed awakening to the power of the Internet and Social Media.  Its starting slowly, but the momentum is indeed building.

    As Craig mentioned, he’ll be staying on as an author, keeping his voice heard and helping guide me through this transition.  We’re going to be transitioning this site over to a new server over the next week and will be blogging away in no time.
