A tale of two iPad screen protectors

I really enjoy my iPad. One of the device highlights is the bright and crisp display.  While I wasn’t concerned about scratching – Guerilla Glass is awesome – I decided to get a screen protector to try and reduce the glare and fingerprint smudging.

The first one I picked up didn’t work out so well. While it reduced glare considerably, the texture was uncomfortable to touch, there was significant drop in clarity, and a large number of dust particles were caught under the protector during installation.

I’ve used Zagg InvisibleShield skins before, so I went ahead and got their iPad screen protector. I should’ve picked this one up first.

Installation is a breeze. The key, is to get the protector good and moist with the supplied liquid, then align it into position and squeegee out any air bubbles.

Glare is reduced enough so as not to be a distraction, and smudging is virtually non-existent.

If you’re considering picking up a screen protector for your iPad, I wholeheartedly recommend the Zagg InvisibleShield.
